Hey all. We are still here in Norfolk, VA. It is crazy to think that we have been here for half a year already and that Casio has been in for almost a year. Life is going well. We are starting to get used to Norfolk but there is no place like home. We met an awesome couple here but they are getting ready for Dennis deployment and Heather is moving home while he is away. So it'll be back to just being me and Casio.
Life is busy though. Casio is going to school and working and I am working at a Navy Youth Camp over the summer. I also started substitute teaching at the end of last school year. I am loving working with kids, especially at the Navy Youth Center. I will resume school at the end of August. I have finally decided on a major: History Teacher Prep. YAY! Here are some cool photos from the past 6 months.

We're here in Virginia. It's crazy to think that we have been here for almost 3 weeks now and it is amazing to think about what we have accomplished in such a short time. Finding a place to move, moving and then settling everything in is hard work and takes people time usually. Not us. We are basically moved in and settled. Well there is not much more to say for now. Take care everyone.

It has been a good while since I've logged on and written anything. The time has come. Training has ended in Pensacola, we have our orders for Norfolk, and the Navy is coming to pick up our belongings next week. We are moving and preparing to leave Dallas. This is my last week at work and Casio has been working in the recruiting station this week.
Casio brother rode with me when I drove to Florida to pick him up last week. In addition to picking him up it was the annual Blue Angels Homecoming weekend and we were able to go to the airshow Friday to see the jets take over the sky. The whole weekend was a blast. I finally had Casio back and we got to hang out in Florida and on the beach.
Casio is an AME which means he's a structural mechanic and has been assigned to the VRC-40 squadron. He is excited about his orders because VRC-40 are C-2 greyhounds which carry mail and other supplies from land to the ship. So he will be on shore a great deal following the ship. We are also looking forward to next week because his mom is coming to visit from Mexico. I am also a little sad about leaving everyone. Emotions, emotions. Well wish us luck on our move and I will write with news from the new land. Happy Thanksgiving!

Well...I'm back from Chicago. I finally got to see Casio. We had a great time. It was too short, but any time you have to leave the ones you love it's too short of time. Pass in Review was so neat. All of those service men and women completeing a rigorous training period and finally getting a little freedom and showing off their skills, flag, accomplishments, it was breath taking. Life is different now. Just little things, but he is changed. Now I'm back in Dallas missing him and he's off for more training. Atleast we will be able to communicate more now.
I hope all is well with every one. Keep in touch !

The countdown till I see Casio is 10 days! I know these days will fly by but 10 days still seems so long. I did hear from him Friday via letter. He seems to be doing well which reassures me that he is doing what he is supposed to be doing. I could never be prouder of him for following his dreams. So, he's section leader and I read Friday that he is also an expert marksman! I also got a call from him Saturday evening, the first in 3 weeks! He sounded good just anxious to be done with boot camp.
I have been sweating my buns off here in Dallas all summer. The cool front (this is what I like to call it) is finally moving in this afternoon after almost 40 days of nothing under 100 degrees. I began to melt I think.
Also a highlight in my life, football season!!!! Of course, the Cowboy season excites me, 3-0. I'm not going to get cocky though, it is only pre-season, but they are looking good! I am also a fan now of 7th grade football. Steven made the team (in 7th grade they have to try out) and is the center and defensive end! Yay, and the first game is tonight!
I'm not sure how good at this blog thing I will be but this site seems much easier for me to maintain than Casio's large website. I may be more prone to writing these blog things if I'm not intimidated by the system! Give me some feed back and let me know how I'm doing.
Special note to Melanie...I miss ya and I hope this helps us keep in touch, even more than we did when we were both in the country.
